CLI command
probierz author spec
Draft a product-owned journey spec through the authenticated Stado model router, verify it with a real Probierz run, and register it only on green.
Invocation#
probierz author spec --target <TARGET> --desc <DESC> --rounds <ROUNDS> <APP_ID> <JOURNEY>Required inputs and options#
- `<appId>`, `<journey>`, `--target`, `--desc` and `--rounds` are required.
- `--paths` is repeatable and adds repository-to-journey mappings; `--rounds` is how many drafts are allowed; `--dry-run` prevents installation. The probe hands the author the whole page text or the whole accessibility tree, uncut.
- File-based authoring supports the JavaScript-runner surfaces. TUI and `desktop:cua` journeys are registered Rust functions and are not generated as spec files.
Output and state effects#
Each candidate runs as the selected product through Probierz. The terminal probe captures a finite command's output and actual exit status; an empty screen is refused, and the captured output alone never counts as a passed test. A failed run passes every reported failure message to the next authoring round without a count or character cap; when the child produces no report, its complete stderr is retained. On green, the accepted journey is installed in the product-owned test location and registered in the application manifest. JSON returns the accepted spec, manifest, run ID, and completed authoring round.
Exact refusals#
- Missing app/journey, description, or target is a usage error naming the missing argument.
- The `tui` and `desktop:cua` targets are refused with `tui journeys are Rust functions in probierz-rs/src/specs, not spec files` or the corresponding `desktop:cua` sentence.
- Unknown options, unexpected arguments, and valueless flags are refused. A candidate that cannot complete a real green Probierz run is never registered.
- An invalid test directory or a path that escapes the product through a symlink is refused before creating its destination.
- Writing a staged draft or reading it back for the next round fails with the operation, staged path and actual I/O cause. An unreadable prior draft stops authoring; it is not treated as a new journey without history.
